Zonta Local Service Committee
Our Local Service Committee presents grants to several projects who align with the mission of Zonta to improve the status of women: Rachel Gartner with the Catholic Charities Organization, Leigha of Guardian House. Members of the Local Service Committee include Chair: Donna Dolly and committee members Dawn Judkins, Cherie Coe, Cindy Fitzgerald, Peg Hurlburt, and Betty Gancher.
Each month, the members of the Zonta Club of Glens Falls do an in-kind donation. In October, members brought donations for Victory's Closet, including kitchen items, small appliances, bath towels, sheets, personal hygiene items, and baby items. Victory's Closet is run by Catholic Charities with help from Soroptomist volunteers and assists local domestic violence survivors with starting over. In November, about sixteen bags full of these items were dropped off to Victory's Closet by members of the local service committee, who got to take a tour! We are proud to support this important resource in our community.

Veteran's Guardian House
The Local Service committee brought in-kind donations to the Veteran’s Guardian House in Ballston Spa on May 7th. The case manager, Tonya Graham, showed them around the facility which was very comfortably decorated for a very homey effect. Tonya explained that any items that might be used for women who are moving into their own apartment are also being accepted. Pictured are resident Jay, Donna Dolly, Dawn Judkins and Betty Gancher.
Amanda's House
Amanda’s House is a home away from home for Glens Falls Hospital patients and families who have traveled a distance to seek health care. The house is free for its guests and is supported through community donations. To inquire about room availability and reservations, please call 518-792-7212.
